The Art of Meditation is stress reliever!

Nowadays we are always on the go trying to maintain balance with career, and our personal lives without going crazy. Our stress levels are unusually higher than normal because of our demanding schedules. Personally for me, it came to a point where I was just keeping my head above water and just existing. As I became aware of this, I decided to make a change before I drowned. I did some research and found that meditation would be beneficial for me. The daily practice of meditation has reduced my stress dramatically and continues to provide many benefits. Consistency is key. Below, I will share with you the basics of meditation.

What is Meditation?

Meditation is the cessation of thoughts. Your mind is clear, relaxed and alert, not focusing on anything external events around you. The mind becomes still and silent with no distractions.

How to Meditate:

Pick a time of day and meditate for at least 5 minutes to start: Generally speaking, many choose to meditate in the morning before you start your day but it is really up to you.

Find a quiet spot: Whether it be in the living room of your home or sitting at a park bench outside, choose a location where you won’t be distracted.

Sit comfortably: Maintain good posture but make sure your body is well balanced.

Focus on your breath: Your breath is your anchor in the present moment. It will guide you back when your mind wanders off in thought. 

Repeat meditation daily: You will only reap the benefits if you are consistent
