Rosemary, also known as, salvia rosmarinus is a fragrant evergreen herb belonging to the mint family that is native to the Mediterranean and South America.

Rosemary has essential vitamins and minerals including vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin B6, folate, thiamin, magnesium and calcium.

Rosemary may help improve circulation, boost your immunity and support your nervous system.

Rosemary may help with indigestion. In Europe, rosemary leaf is approved to treat indigestion by the German Commision E, which examines the safety and efficacy of herbs.

Rosemary may help reduce stress if you suffer from depression and anxiety. The aroma from rosemary may also help concentration and performance.

Rosemary may also balance your hormones, improve brain health and eye health.

Rosemary may help treat alopecia. Rosemary is used to help stimulate hair growth. Studies have shown that participants with alopecia areata who used rosemary oil experienced hair regrowth within 6 months.

Rosemary is safe in small doses. If rosemary is taken in extremely large doses it may cause serious side effects including vomiting, spasms, coma, pulmonary edema and or miscarriage.

Rosemary may interact with certain medications, including blood thinners, lithium, diuretics and blood pressure medications just to name a few.
