Pineapple and Bromelain Heath Benefits 

Bromelain is a protein-digesting enzyme from fresh pineapple. It is known to help decrease inflammation by enzymes breaking apart compounds. When bromelain or pineapple is taken on an empty stomach it breaks down protein based inflammatory compounds.  

Bromelain also helps relieve sinus inflammation and season allergy symptoms and is most often combined with the bioflavonoid quercetin. When taken with food, bromelain and pineapple helps you digest protein-rich foods. 

Bromelain and pineapple can be used for various types of inflammatory conditions including sprains, strains, tendonitis, rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis, knee pain and ulcerative colitis.
