Oolong tea is Traditional Chinese tea extracted from the leaves of the Camellia sinensis plant. Oolong tea is partially fermented, while black tea is fully fermented and green tea is unfermented. Oolong tea contains a similar amount of caffeine compared to green tea, with approximately 10-60 mg per 8 ounce cup.
Oolong tea has essential vitamins and minerals including, calcium, manganese, copper, selenium, potassium, magnesium, zinc and niacin.
Oolong tea is rich in antioxidants. Antioxidants help fight free radicals in the body and may reduce the risk of chronic diseases. Oolong tea is rich in the amino acid L-theanine which helps relax the nervous system and improve brain function.
