Are you being honest with yourself?
“To believe in something, and not to live it, is dishonest.”― Mahatma Ghandi
Are you saying that you are going to do something later but deep down inside you know that you aren’t going to do it
Are you being loyal to people who you know won’t be there for you when you are in a tough situation?
Are you saying yes to everyone knowing that you don’t have the time to fit him or her in your schedule?
Are you settling with someone that you know deep down inside isn’t the ideal relationship for you?
Are you too busy pleasing everyone else just to be “accepted” but know that this is not who you are as a person?
If you answered yes to any of the questions above, please realize that you are not alone.
Many of us haven’t been honest with ourselves. Sometimes we just feel stuck or afraid to say no or create boundaries just to please everyone else but yourself. It’s time to make a change. The only person that you need to say YES to is YOURSELF. You are your number #1 priority. Stop lying to yourself and start living your own life. Live based on your own values, beliefs and wants. Learn how to say NO. It’s time to create happiness in your life. Be responsible and accountable for your own life and don’t let this self-delusion hold you back. The truth will set you free and you will start living your best life.
Here’s a quick exercise on how to help you to be honest with yourself:
What does honesty mean to you?
Write down ways that you are honest with yourself
Write down ways that you are NOT honest with yourself
Write down your ideal YOU. Who are you? How do you want to live your life?
Write down the changes that you plan to make in order to start living an honest life with yourself
Make a change and be accountable. Put your changes into action!
