Did you know that low stomach acid is associated with gastrointestinal issues?
Low stomach acid also known as hypochlorhydria (HCL) is known to cause digestive discomfort. People may experience nutritional deficiencies, gastrointestinal infections and other digestive issues such as acid reflux or GERD.
Common symptoms of low stomach acid include burping, bloating, burning or flatulence within 30 minutes after eating. It also includes nausea after taking supplements, undigested food in the stool, hair loss and/or weak, peeling and cracked fingernails.
Low stomach acid is also the underlying cause of most chronic illnesses. It has been linked to autoimmune diseases, allergies, anemia and skin issues. The risk factors in having low stomach acid are eating a poor diet, high levels of stress, and/or aging.
