Forest Bathing is Something You Should Do Every day
Working long hours and being overly productive has been an issue to maintain work-life balance. Besides not having a work-life balance, it can also lead to many stress-related diseases like a heart attack or stroke. In Japan, it became a major problem which led to this resolution in 1982.
In 1982, the Forest Agency of Japan introduced the concept of “Forest Bathing” which is spending time walking, meditating, exercising and/or playing in a forest like environment. Forest Bathing has been shown to provide physical and emotional benefits. A view of water, such as a lake, pond, river or other water feature improves the effect.
Here are the many benefits of Forest Bathing:
· Improved cardiovascular health and nervous health system
· Reduced levels of cortisol, improved mood and self-esteem
· Decreased stress
· Fewer symptoms of depression
· Decreased brain fatigue and attention deficit
· Improved cognition
· Focus and creativity
