Why is walking one of the best exercises you can do? 

Walking is one of the best exercises you can do yet it is underrated. Going to the gym or to a SoulCycle class can be fun but sometimes life gets in the way and we are not able to go.  So, what’s the next best thing that is always underrated? Walking! 

Walking provides various health benefits for all ages at different fitness levels. Walking is low impact, requiring minimal equipment and can be done within your schedule at your own pace. Its especially beneficial for people that are overweight, elderly or haven’t exercised in a long time. 

Walking can provide the following health benefits: 

·     Improves cardiovascular (blood pressure, cholesterol, diabetes, heart disease) and pulmonary health 

·     Improve your mood and energy, and boosts your immunity

·     Reduces joint pain, stiffness, and back pain 

·     Increases muscle strength and stronger bone health

You can incorporate walking by taking the stairs whenever possible or walking to local stores in your neighborhood. Walking for at least 30 minutes a day or longer is great to take advantage of these health benefits.
