How does osteoporosis occur?

Osteoporosis occurs when bones become weak due to the lack of calcium phosphate. The bones commonly become thinner and more brittle with age, especially for women who’ve led a sedentary lifestyle, had a poor diet or after menopause because the female hormone, estrogen, is needed for healthy bone formation.

The development of osteoporosis is rooted in our childhood because having a sedentary childhood will mean that we don’t develop really strong bones. This can complicate things later in life when we lose bone density. This is why it’s important to have a nutritious diet and healthy lifestyle from childhood all throughout life.
