Why is plank pose exercise good for you? 

The plank pose exercise is an effective core exercise that uses your entire body weight to build strength and stability. It engages multiple muscle groups simultaneously which is a reason why it’s so beneficial to implement in your exercise regime. 

The plank pose provides these wonderful health benefits:

How do you do the plank pose?  

Roll out your yoga mat. 

Lie face down in a push up position. Keep your palms on the floor next to your shoulders with your feet flexed at the bottom of your toes on the floor. 

Now press up into a push up position. 

Make sure you keep your chest and abs pulled tight. 

Keep your body in a straight line from the heels to the top of your head.  

Pull your navel to your spine and tighten your glutes. 

Remember to breathe. 

Make sure you don’t allow your hips, head or shoulders lower. 

Hold the plank for 30 seconds, rest and then hold again for 30 more seconds.
