Health Benefits of Fenugreek

Fenugreek, also known as methi, is an herb belonging to the bean (Fabaceae) family is native to the Middle and Near East but now is cultivated worldwide. Its seeds and leaves are common ingredients in culinary dishes from the Indian subcontinent.

In traditional medicine, fenugreek is used to treat inflammation, diabetes, gastrointestinal disorders and to increase milk supply in women who were breastfeeding.

Fenugreek contains essential vitamins and minerals including vitamin A, vitamin D, iron, magnesium, manganese, copper, phosphorus, potassium, calcium and vitamin B6.
