Sea buckthorn (hippophae rhamnoides) also known as the holy fruit of the Himalayas, seaberry, sandthorn or sallowthorn is a spiny deciduous shrub with bright orange-yellow berries belonging to to the oleaster (elaeagnaceae) family. Sea buckthorn is native to cold temperate regions in Eurasia.
